Red-hot Pistons seek fifth straight win

Dec 23, 2007 - 1:53 PM Houston (13-14) at Detroit (19-7) 6:00 pm EST

AUBURN HILLS, Michigan (Ticker) -- The surging Detroit Pistons look to push their winning streak to five games when they host the Houston Rockets on Sunday.

Tayshaun Prince scored 16 points to lead five players in double figures, leading the Pistons to a 94-67 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday.

The win also saw the long-awaited debut of Detroit's first-round pick Rodney Stuckey, who missed nearly two months with a broken left hand suffered during the final preseason game.

"Stuckey is going to add a dimension to our team that we didn't have," Pistons guard Chauncey Billups said. "He's a slashing guy who'll go to the rack and he'll get guys in foul trouble because he's so strong. He can pass and make plays for everybody as well. He's going to be something special."

The Pistons have won 11 of their last 13 game overall. He scored two points in seven minutes.

However, Detroit came up short in its first meeting against the Rockets when Billups and Rasheed Wallace both missed game-tying 3-pointers in the waning seconds of an 80-77 setback on December 12 in Houston.

The Pistons should have an excellent chance in this one, winning the previous six visits from the Rockets, who have failed to win here since the 2000-01 campaign.

Tracy McGrady returned to the lineup to score 20 points as the Rockets coasted to a 116-98 victory over the Chicago Bulls on the second stop of a four-game road swing on Saturday.

Houston center Yao Ming is questionable after hurting the thumb on his shooting hand during the third quarter of Saturday's game. X-rays were negative.
