Kings return home to host Nuggets

Dec 23, 2007 - 1:58 PM Denver (15-11) at Sacramento (11-14) 9:00 pm EST

SACRAMENTO, California (Ticker) -- The Sacramento Kings return home after a five-game road trip to host the Denver Nuggets on Sunday.

The Kings won their first three road games of the season, going 3-2 on the East Coast swing, including a 102-89 victory at Milwaukee on Wednesday.

With leading scorer Kevin Martin out four to six weeks with a groin injury, Ron Artest leads the Kings, scoring 19.1 points per game. Artest poured in 26 points on 8-of-12 shooting in the victory over the Bucks.

Denver has lost three of its last four games and is just 1-5 in its last six games on the road.

Carmelo Anthony and Allen Iverson are the only two players that have led the Nuggets in scoring this season. The duo each scored 34 points in Friday's 99-96 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers. For Iverson, it was his fourth straight 30-point game, and the 32-year-old is scoring 32.1 points in the month of December.

The Nuggets defeated the Kings, 101-97, at home on December 8 in the first meeting this season. The teams split the four meetings last season.
