Hot 76ers look to take down struggling Heat

Dec 26, 2007 - 12:36 PM Miami (8-20) at Philadelphia (11-16) 6:00 pm EST

PHILADELPHIA (Ticker) -- The Philadelphia 76ers look to continue their solid play when they host the stumbling Miami Heat on Wednesday.

The 76ers have won six of their last nine games, including a 99-92 victory at the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday.

Red-hot Andre Miller led the attack with 29 points and Samuel Dalembert grabbed 14 rebounds as Philadelphia concluded a three-game road swing.

Miller has averaged 22 points on 55-percent shooting over the last five games. Though Philadelphia has been rolling, it has lost two straight at home and is just 6-9 here this season. But the Heat may be the cure.

Miami has the Eastern Conference's worst record and has dropped four of its last five games despite 149 points from superstar Dwyane Wade. However, while the high-flying Wade has flourished, future Hall-of-Famer Shaquille O'Neal's career has continued its downward spiral.

O'Neal was on the bench for most of the fourth quarter in Tuesday's 96-82 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers, narrowly avoiding tying an NBA record by fouling out in a sixth straight game.

Wade scored 22 points, but missed 11 of his 18 shots from the field and split half of his 16 free-throw attempts.
