Magic look to regain early-season form vs. Knicks

Dec 26, 2007 - 12:43 PM New York (8-19) at Orlando (18-11) 7:00 pm EST

ORLANDO, Florida (Ticker) - The Orlando Magic have cooled off after starting the season with 14 victories in 17 games.

With the Magic looking to regain their winning ways, the New York Knicks provide the opposition on Wednesday.

Orlando lost for the eighth time in 12 games on Sunday as Boston avenged one of its three losses with a 103-91 victory. The loss was the second straight for the Magic, who are 2-7 in their last nine games.

Dwight Howard led Orlando with 23 points and 14 rebounds for his 25th double-double of the season. Hedo Turkoglu scored 19 points and Rashard Lewis scored 15 for the Magic. Turkoglu's 3-pointer with three seconds left in the first quarter gave him 6,000 points in his career.

The Knicks have lost two straight, including a 95-90 home loss on Sunday to the Los Angeles Lakers despite 31 points from Jamal Crawford.

New York was again without the services of guard Stephon Marbury, who has missed seven of the last eight games since the death of his father on December 2.

Just 1-10 on the road, New York lost its only meeting of the season with Orlando, 112-102, on November 9.
