Road-weary Bobcats happy to be home

Dec 26, 2007 - 12:46 PM Washington (13-13) at Charlotte (10-15) 7:00 pm EST

CHARLOTTE, North Carolina (Ticker) - Considering what happened in their last road game, there's no doubt the Charlotte Bobcats are glad to be home.

The Bobcats face the slumping Washington Wizards on Wednesday.

Charlotte is coming off a 103-99 loss at Milwaukee on Saturday. The game was delayed 15 minutes after Charlotte needed nearly 11 hours to get to Milwaukee after their flight left Charlotte at 9 a.m.

After several diversions and a refueling and food stop, the team finally landed at Midway Airport in Chicago at 4:30 p.m. and took a bus to to the Bradley Center, arriving 60 minutes before the scheduled tip-off.

Bobcats forward Othella Harrington missed his third consecutive game due to arthritic pain in his surgically repaired left knee, and guard Jeff McInnis left the game with a left foot injury late in the third quarter.

"Fatigue was definitely a factor," Bobcats coach Sam Vincent said. "We were completely off our routine and guys were a little tired."

The Wizards have lost three straight after a four-game winning streak, including a 93-85 loss at Indiana on Saturday. Antawn Jamison had 29 points and 12 rebounds, and Roger Mason scored a career-high 20 points for Washington, which was missing Gilbert Arenas, Caron Butler and Antonio Daniels because of injuries.

"We have to live through it," Washington coach Eddie Jordan said. "We have to do the things we're supposed to do with the people that are healthy, and let the winning and losing take care of itself."
