Warriors head home to face struggling Timberwolves
Dec 26, 2007 - 1:08 PM Minnesota (4-22) at Golden State (16-12) 10:30 pm ESTOAKLAND, California (Ticker) - After ending a road trip with three victories in four games, the Golden State Warriors hope to continue the recent success at home on Wednesday against the lowly Minnesota Timberwolves.
The Warriors ended a five-game trip on Sunday with a 105-96 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers as Stephen Jackson scored 29 points and Baron Davis scored 27.
Golden State never trailed and built an 89-61 lead late in the third quarter. Monta Ellis scored 19 points and Al Harrington 16 for the Warriors, who went into the game second in the league in scoring. Golden State forward Austin Croshere (back) missed his second straight game.
The Timberwolves are 1-7 in their last eight games and have only one victory in 13 road games. Minnesota has lost its last eight road games and is coming off a 110-76 loss at New Orleans on Saturday. Ryan Gomes scored 20 points to lead the Timberwolves, who have yet to win two straight this season.
The teams have played once this season with Golden State winning on December 19 at Minnesota, 111-98, behind 25 points from Harrington.
