Paul, Hornets aim for fourth consecutive win

Dec 28, 2007 - 2:19 PM New Orleans (18-10) at Charlotte (10-16) 7:00 pm EST

CHARLOTTE, North Carolina (Ticker) - Chris Paul and the New Orleans Hornets seek their fourth straight victory when they visit the Charlotte Bobcats on Friday.

Paul registered his second 40-point performance of the season as the Hornets breezed to a 116-98 triumph over the Washington Wizards on Wednesday.

"They were giving me some space early and some chances to take shots, so it was my job to get it going for us," Paul said.

A former Rookie of the Year, Paul has been putting up impressive numbers this month. The Winston-Salem native is averaging 25.7 points and 10 assists through 11 games in December.

Paul should also be challenged by former college rival Raymond Felton, who played at North Carolina while Paul ran the floor for Wake Forest.

On Wednesday, Charlotte suffered its second straight setback with a 108-104 loss to the Washington Wizards, despite 32 points by Gerald Wallace.

Recently-acquired Nazr Mohammed has been a pleasant surprise on the glass for the Bobcats since coming over from Detroit five games ago. He has reached double figures in rebounds in three of his four starts.

The Hornets have just one win in three meetings against Charlotte in the Queen City.
