Pistons hope to push winning streak to seven games

Dec 28, 2007 - 3:30 PM Indiana (15-14) at Detroit (21-7) 8:00 pm EST

AUBURN HILLS, Michigan (Ticker) - The red-hot Detroit Pistons shoot for their seventh straight win when the Indiana Pacers pay a visit on Friday.

The backcourt duo of Richard Hamilton and Chauncey Billups combined for 39 points and 14 assists to help the Pistons coast to a 101-83 triumph over the New Jersey Nets.

"We got to keep rolling now," Detroit forward Rasheed Wallace said. "We can't let up. We played pretty good tonight and I think some of us were anxious to play again because we had been playing good."

Known mostly for their lock-down defense, the Pistons have held their last seven opponents under 90 points in helping build on their 13-2 record against the Eastern Conference.

Detroit and Indiana split in four games a season ago with each winning one another home floor.

Jermaine O'Neal and Jamaal Tinsley both registered double doubles but the Pacers came up short on Wednesday, a 107-95 setback to the upstart Atlanta Hawks.

"We were just fighting too hard, overdoing," Tinsley said. "But, you know, you've got to give them credit."

O'Neal will be searching for his first 20-point performance since December 17. But the All-Star big man is averaging 15.7 points in his career when facing the Pistons.
