Lakers host Jazz, aiming for fourth straight victory

Dec 28, 2007 - 3:42 PM Utah (16-14) at LA Lakers (18-10) 10:30 pm EST

LOS ANGELES (Ticker) - The Los Angeles Lakers go for their fourth straight win on Friday when they host the Utah Jazz.

Kobe Bryant scored 38 points and Andrew Bynum poured in 28 and added 12 rebounds as the Lakers extended their streak with a 122-115 victory over the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday - their fourth straight win at home.

The win was Bryant's second straight game with at least 38 points after he scored 39 against the New York Knicks on Sunday. The 29-year-old superstar ranks second in the NBA, averaging 27.2 points per game.

Bynum has been a lethal presence down low for Los Angeles lately, logging double-doubles in five of his last six games and seven in 11 games during December. The 20-year-old seven-footer is averaging 12.5 points and just over 10 rebounds a game this season.

The Jazz, meanwhile, had dropped three of their last four games before claiming a 99-90 triumph over the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday.

Utah may have a difficult time winning back-to-back games for the first time since a three-game winning streak at the end of November into December as the Jazz are just 6-12 on the road this season.

Utah's 12 road losses are tied with the Miami Heat for the second most in the NBA, one behind the Milwaukee Bucks.
