Pistons seek eighth straight win

Dec 29, 2007 - 2:31 PM Detroit (22-7) at Indiana (15-15) 7:00 pm EST

INDIANAPOLIS (Ticker) - The red-hot Detroit Pistons will look to complete a home-and-home series sweep of the Indiana Pacers on Saturday.

Richard Hamilton had 23 points and nine assists in helping the Pistons earn their seventh straight win with Friday's 114-101 victory over the Pacers.

"That was one of Rip's best all-around games," Detroit coach Flip Saunders said. "We've stressed to him that when he's that active defensively, he's more efficient shooting-wise. He gets a feel of everything."

The Pistons, who have captured 14 of their last 16 games, are trying to win eight consecutive contests since doing so from November 17-December 1 last season.

Perennial All-Star Jermaine O'Neal scored 25 points and was the lone bright in Friday's loss, Indiana's third in four games.

The Pacers young duo of Danny Granger and Mike Dunleavy were held in check by Detroit's hard-nose defense, as they combined to score just 17 points..

"Obviously, this is a tough matchup for us," Indiana coach Jim O'Brien said. "Prince is tough for any team to defend, and he got the best of (Dunleavy), and Rip certainly got the best of Danny."

Indiana is just 2-4 at Conseco Fieldhouse in the series.
