Hornets eye fifth consecutive win

Dec 29, 2007 - 2:57 PM Cleveland (14-16) at New Orleans (19-10) 8:00 pm EST

NEW ORLEANS (Ticker) - The New Orleans Hornets go for their fifth straight win when they host the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday.

The Hornets, who have won three of their four games on the road during the streak, are seeking five consecutive wins for the second time this season - the first streak coming from November 11-17.

David West had 20 points and 10 rebounds on Friday as the Hornets posted a 99-85 victory at Charlotte. Tyson Chandler had 17 points and 17 rebounds while Chris Paul added 17 points and 11 assists for New Orleans, which made its fourth trip to the North Carolina city since relocating six years ago.

Paul is averaging 21.6 points, 11.6 assists and 3.6 steals in his last five games. This is the first of two games between the teams, each winning at home last year.

Cleveland has won two straight, including an 88-81 victory on Thursday at Dallas behind 24 points from LeBron James.

It was the first time in a month that the Cavaliers won consecutive games. It was Cleveland's first victory at Dallas since March 23, 2000, when James was a high school freshman.
