Warriors looking to avenge loss vs. Nuggets
Dec 30, 2007 - 2:11 PM Golden State (17-13) at Denver (18-11) 8:00 pm ESTDENVER (Ticker) -- The Golden State Warriors and Denver Nuggets meet for the second time this weekend on Sunday.
On Friday, the Nuggets captured the first game of the home-and-home set with a 124-120 victory. Allen Iverson led the way for the Nuggets, scoring 39 points and handing out six assists.
It was the fifth time in seven games that Iverson scored at least 30 points as Denver picked up its third straight victory.
Stephen Jackson scored 32 points for the Warriors, who had a five-game winning streak stopped.
Jackson, who was named team captain before the season by coach Don Nelson, is averaging 21.5 points this season - well above his career average of 14.4 points.
The Warriors are 9-7 on the road. Last season, they didn't notch their ninth road win until April 4.
