Richardson, Bobcats look to end skid, face Pacers

Dec 31, 2007 - 11:21 AM Indiana (15-16) at Charlotte (10-18) 2:00 pm EST

CHARLOTTE, North Carolina (Ticker) -- Jason Richardson and the Charlotte Bobcats have fallen on hard times after starting the season on a high note.

Richardson and the Bobcats hope to end a four-game losing streak when they face the Indiana Pacers on Monday.

Charlotte, which began 2007-08 a franchise best 6-4, has dropped 14 of its last 18 games. The Bobcats now own the third-worst record in the Eastern Conference.

Richardson scored a season-high 34 points Saturday as the Bobcats endured a 104-95 loss to the Orlando Magic. During the Bobcats' losing streak, the swingman is averaging 29.0 points while shooting over 50 percent from the field.

Indiana has lost three straight to fall under .500.

Jermaine O'Neal had 20 points and 11 rebounds in the Pacers' 98-92 loss to the Detroit Pistons on Saturday. They also lost to Detroit on Friday.

The Pacers miss the play of starting point guard Jamaal Tinsley, who injured his hamstring vs. Detroit on Friday. The 6-3 Tinsley, who is averaging 13.8 points and 8.7 assists in 29 contests, is expected to miss at least a week.
