Red-hot Pistons aim for ninth straight win

Dec 31, 2007 - 11:22 AM Milwaukee (11-18) at Detroit (23-7) 3:30 pm EST

AUBURN HILLS, Michigan (Ticker) - The surging Detroit Pistons will try to earn their ninth straight victory when they take on the slumping Milwaukee Bucks on Monday afternoon.

As one of the hottest clubs in the league, the Pistons completed an impressive home-and-home series sweep of the Indiana Pacers on Saturday. Richard Hamilton led the way with 24 points for Detroit in the 98-92 victory.

"It's not that odd to play a team back-to-back, you get that every once in a while in this league," Pistons forward Rasheed Wallace said. "You still have to go out there and hoop."

And Detroit has been doing just that so far this season, posting a commanding 14-2 record in December. As a result, the Pistons now have compiled a winning streak of at least eight games in each of the last four campaigns.

They also have dominated the series against the Bucks here, winning seven of the last eight meetings at home, where Detroit has a 11-5 mark this season.

Michael Redd bounced back from a dismal outing with 35 points, but it wasn't enough as Milwaukee suffered its third consecutive defeat in Saturday's 97-95 loss to the New Jersey Nets.

With one of the best home records in the Eastern Conference, the Bucks are just 2-14 on the road this season - worst in the Central Division.
