Bulls look to remain perfect under Boylan

CHICAGO (Ticker) -- Albeit after just two games, Jim Boylan's tenure as interim coach of the Chicago Bulls has been a rousing success.

A week after taking over for the fired Scott Skiles, Boylan will look to move to 3-0 when the Bulls host the Orlando Magic on Monday afternoon.

One of Boylan's first moves as coach was to put shooting guard Ben Gordon back as the team's sixth man - a role in which he has thrived in recent seasons.

As a result, Gordon has picked up right where he left off as a reserve, totaling 56 points in two games.

Gordon's 25 points on 11-of-15 shooting on Sunday lifted Chicago to a 100-83 victory over the lowly New York Knicks and out of last place in the Central Division.

The Bulls should have a tough test on Monday against Orlando, which is riding a three-game winning streak. The Magic have been scoring at will recently, eclipsing the 100-point mark in all three of their triumphs during the streak.

Chicago also will have to find a way to contend with superstar center Dwight Howard, who is averaging 23.1 points and a league-high 15.3 rebounds.
