West, Hornets aim for sixth straight win, face Raptors

Dec 31, 2007 - 11:28 AM Toronto (16-15) at New Orleans (20-10) 8:00 pm EST

NEW ORLEANS (Ticker) -- David West and the New Orleans Hornets are on a roll.

West and the Hornets aim for their sixth straight win when they face the Toronto Raptors on Monday.

New Orleans defeated Charlotte, 86-76, on Saturday for its fifth consecutive victory. West, who had 27 points and 15 rebounds against the Bobcats, has averaged 21.2 points, 10.4 rebounds and 2.8 blocked shots while shooting 58 percent during the streak.

New Orleans, which will be looking for six straight wins for the first time since an eight-game run from February 19-March 7, 2003, has lost seven of its last nine games vs. Toronto, including four of five at home.

The Raptors are trying to finish a seven-game Western trip on a winning note after going 2-4 so far.

Toronto dropped a 91-79 decision to the Houston Rockets on Saturday after beating defending champion San Antonio, 83-73, the night before. All-Star Chris Bosh had 19 points and 12 rebounds against the Rockets, but is shooting a career-low 44 percent from the field for the season.
