Cavs looking for consistency

Jan 2, 2008 - 2:00 PM Atlanta (15-13) at Cleveland (14-17) 7:00 pm EST

CLEVELAND (Ticker) - The Cleveland Cavaliers enter Wednesday's game against the Atlanta Hawks looking for some consistency.

A season after reaching the NBA Finals, the Cavs have been a major disappointment. They have lost 11 of their last 16 games.

On Saturday, the Cavs failed in their bid for a three-game winning streak as they suffered an 87-76 road loss to the New Orleans Hornets.

Atlanta has been off since having its five-game winning streak stopped with a 97-84 loss to the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday.

It will be the first of three games between the teams this season. LeBron James, who turned 23 on Sunday, averaged 28.8 points against the Hawks last season in helping the Cavs win three of the four contests between the teams.

Atlanta guard Joe Johnson averaged 22.0 points in three games against the Cavaliers last season.
