Trail Blazers look to bounce back against Timberwolves

Jan 2, 2008 - 2:20 PM Portland (18-13) at Minnesota (4-26) 8:00 pm EST

MINNEAPOLIS (Ticker) -- The Portland Trail Blazers hope to get back into the win column when they visit the lowly Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday.

Portland enjoyed a 13-game winning streak that nearly took up the entire month of December. The Blazers lost only two games during the final month of 2007 - on December 2 and then most recently a 111-101 setback to the Utah Jazz on December 31.

"We just approached it one game at a time," said Brandon Roy, who Roy averaged 22.8 points during the streak. "That's going to be the way we're going to approach things now. ... It was a great run, but it's over with, and now we've got a taste of success so we want to continue."

On the other hand, the Timberwolves just might be dreaming to get to 13 wins for the entire campaign.

At 4-26, Minnesota is on pace for just 11 wins this season. Minnesota ended a five-game road trip - all losses - with a 91-82 setback to the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday.

Al Jefferson has been the lone bright spot for the Timberwolves, averaging a double-double, including a 23-point, 15-rebound performance against the Clippers.

The Blazers won the first meeting, 109-98, on Friday after splitting the four contests last campaign.
