Warriors, Mavericks clash for second time this season

Jan 2, 2008 - 2:24 PM Golden State (19-13) at Dallas (20-11) 8:30 pm EST

DALLAS (Ticker) - The Dallas Mavericks will revisit last season's playoff disappointment for the first time on their home floor.

Dallas hosts the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday.

The Mavericks, who went 67-15 last season, became the first top seed to lose to an eighth seed in the best-of-seven format when they were beaten in six games by the Warriors last spring.

This is the second meeting between the teams this season after the Mavericks posted a 120-115 win in Golden State on November 8.

Dallas ended a two-game losing streak with a 97-84 victory over the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday. Dirk Nowitzki scored 22 points to pace the Mavericks.

The Warriors enter this contest having won four of their last five games. Baron Davis had 37 points in November's loss to Dallas, and is averaging 26.8 points over his last five games.

Golden State has won its last three road games, including a 112-95 victory over the Houston Rockets on Monday. The Warriors outscored the Rockets, 37-15, in the fourth quarter.
