Hornets go for sixth straight road win against Suns

Jan 5, 2008 - 1:52 PM New Orleans (22-11) at Phoenix (23-9) 9:00 pm EST

PHOENIX (Ticker) - The New Orleans Hornets have felt pretty comfortable on the road so far this season.

New Orleans will go for their sixth straight road win when they visit the surging Phoenix Suns on Saturday.

The Hornets have not won six straight road games since ending the 1999-00 campaign and beginning the 2000-01 season with seven straight victories - back when the franchise was in Charlotte.

New Orleans is coming off an impressive 116-104 triumph in Golden State on Friday, which was its seventh win in eight games.

Tyson Chandler had 22 points and 22 rebounds and Chris Paul had 24 points and 13 assists for his third straight double-double in Friday's victory.

Saturday's contest will feature a marquee matchup at the point guard position as Paul goes against two-time Most Valuable Player Steve Nash.

Nash has posted double-digit assists in his last eight games and leads the league with 12.3 assists per contest.

The Suns, who have won four straight games, are coming off a 104-96 victory against Seattle on Thursday. Amare Stoudemire had 34 points and 11 rebounds in the victory and is averaging 30.8 points and 13.3 rebounds during the winning streak.

New Orleans won the first meeting, 101-98, at home on December 15 after Phoenix had won the previous six contests.
