Blazers seeking revenge against Jazz

Jan 5, 2008 - 1:55 PM Utah (18-16) at Portland (20-13) 10:00 pm EST

PORTLAND, Oregon (Ticker) - The Portland Trail Blazers are likely seeking revenge on Saturday when they host the Utah Jazz.

The Jazz ended the Trail Blazers' 13-game win streak, 111-101, the last time these two teams met on Monday. The loss was just Portland's second in December after dropping its first game of the month against the San Antonio Spurs.

The Blazers rebounded from the loss with back-to-back wins on the road, including a 115-109 double-overtime victory against the Chicago Bulls in their last contest on Thursday.

Brandon Roy scored 25 points and tied a career-high with 11 assists to lead Portland to its 15th win in the last 16 games and its fifth road win in six tries.

"Winning 15 of 16 games is special at any level," Roy said. "This team is just learning how to win tough games on the road. We're just going to approach each game one at a time and see where that takes us."

The Jazz, meanwhile, followed their win against the Blazers with another victory, claiming a narrow 110-107 triumph against the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday.

Kyle Korver, who was acquired from the 76ers in exchange for Gordan Giricek and a protected first-round draft pick on Saturday, made all six free throws in the final 36 seconds of the game to preserve the win against his former team.
