Richardson, Bobcats hope to turn high scoring into a win

Jan 6, 2008 - 2:53 PM Milwaukee (12-20) at Charlotte (11-20) 6:00 pm EST

CHARLOTTE, North Carolina (Ticker) - The Charlotte Bobcats have been getting some impressive scoring performances from Jason Richardson and Gerald Wallace of late. Unfortunately, those points haven't translated into wins.

The Bobcats host the Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday in a battle of two teams that have been struggling to find the win column.

Richardson and Wallace became the first set of Charlotte teammates to score 20 or more points in four straight games during a loss at New Jersey on Friday. The two have averaged 29 and 24 points, respectively, over the last seven games, but that has brought just one victory.

The Bobcats have allowed 99 points or more in each of their last seven games. Charlotte is allowing opponents to shoot 46.5 percent from the field this season - the fourth worst mark in the NBA.

The Bucks may be in no position to score close to 100 points by the time they take the floor on Sunday. Top scorer and perimeter threat Michael Redd is unlikely to play after suffering a thigh bruise and sitting out Friday's 101-77 loss against the Washington Wizards.

Milwaukee's 77-point total against the Wizards was their second lowest output of the season, and the club has dropped five of its last six games. Charlie Bell started in place of Redd in the loss to the Nets and managed zero points on 0-of-6 shooting.

The teams have split two meetings this season, with each protecting its home court. Redd totaled 48 points in the two games, a 102-99 loss here on November 2 and a 103-99 win on December 22 in Milwaukee.
