Nash, Suns aim to rebound vs. Nuggets

Jan 7, 2008 - 2:24 PM Denver (20-12) at Phoenix (23-10) 9:00 pm EST

PHOENIX (Ticker) -- Steve Nash and the Phoenix Suns aim to rebound from a disappointing loss when they host Allen Iverson and the Denver Nuggets on Monday.

Chris Paul scored 28 points and added 14 assists as the New Orleans Hornets ended the Suns' 20-game winning streak when leading after three quarters with a 118-113 win on Saturday.

"They played better than we did in the second half," Nash said. "I felt we had pretty good control of the game for three quarters, but we lost control, and they played good down the stretch."

Nash scored 23 points in the loss, and will look to help the Suns get back on track against Iverson and the surging Nuggets. The diminutive Iverson torched his former team, the Philadelphia 76ers, for 38 points in a 109-96 win on Sunday.

Denver, which has won three straight, will be tested against the high-scoring Suns.

Phoenix is leading the league with an average of 109.0 points, and is third in the league with an average of eight 3-pointers.

This is the first meeting between the teams this season. Phoenix won two of the three meetings last season.
