Lowly Knicks look to avoid season-long losing streak vs. Bulls

Jan 8, 2008 - 2:17 PM New York (8-24) at Chicago (13-19) 8:30 pm EST

CHICAGO (Ticker) - The New York Knicks look to avoid their longest losing streak of the season on Tuesday when they visit the Chicago Bulls.

The Knicks enter the game with seven straight losses - including a 103-91 setback against the Houston Rockets on Saturday. It was the sixth consecutive loss on the road for New York, which is just 1-13 away from Madison Square Garden this season.

New York will have a difficult time getting back on track against the Bulls, especially at the United Center where it has lost seven straight.

The Knicks lost their first game of the season at the United Center, 101-96, on December 14. Luol Deng scored 29 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Bulls to the victory.

However, Chicago will likely be without Deng on Tuesday as they look to win back-to-back home games for the first time in nearly a month.

Deng missed the Bulls last contest, a 94-93 triumph over the Sacramento Kings on Saturday, with a strained Achilles tendon.

In his fourth season out of Duke, Deng is Chicago's second-leading scorer at 18.5 points and its second-leading rebounder at 7.0 per game. The 6-8 forward also leads the Bulls with a 47.2 field-goal percentage.
