Knicks aim for back-to-back wins

Jan 9, 2008 - 2:22 PM Houston (18-17) at New York (9-24) 7:30 pm EST

NEW YORK (Ticker) -- Fresh off just their second road win of the season, the New York Knicks head home on Wednesday to host the Houston Rockets.

The Knicks snapped a seven-game losing streak on Tuesday with a 105-100 at Chicago, erasing a 13-point deficit in the fourth quarter. It was just the second win away from home in 15 tries for the Knicks.

Eddy Curry scored 29 points and Stephon Marbury, who recently came back from a prolonged absence from the team due to the death of his father, hit a pair of 3-pointers down the stretch to clinch the win.

The Knicks have not picked up back-to-back wins since November 24 and 26 at home against the Bulls and the Utah Jazz.

This is the second meeting between the teams in less than a week. On Saturday, Yao Ming collected 30 points, eight rebounds and six assists to lead the Rockets to a 103-91 win over the Knicks.

Houston still is without Tracy McGrady due to a knee injury. But the Rockets have not missed the star swingman, going 5-2 in his absence.

Yao had 21 points and nine rebounds, lifting the Rockets to a 92-84 victory over the Washington Wizards on Tuesday. The win moved Houston above .500 for the first time in a month.
