Pistons try to avoid third straight loss
Jan 10, 2008 - 2:30 PM Detroit (26-9) at San Antonio (23-10) 8:00 pm ESTSAN ANTONIO (Ticker) -- In the midst of their second two-game losing streak of the season, the Detroit Pistons have an tough test to keep it from stretching to three.
The Pistons visit the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday in a battle of Eastern and Western Conference powers.
The Spurs own the NBA's best home record at 17-2 and are getting healthy again after missing sixth man Manu Ginobili for five games due to a finger injury. Ginobili has totaled 43 points in two games since his return, and played a season-high 41 minutes in Monday's 130-121 loss to the Golden State Warriors.

Detroit is coming off losses to the Boston Celtics and the Dallas Mavericks.
On Wednesday, the Pistons struggled both offensively and defensively in a 102-86 loss to the Mavericks.
Detroit is 13-6 on the road this season, with five of the losses coming against Western Conference foes.
Just 6-7 over its past 13 games, San Antonio has slipped into a first-place tie with Dallas (24-11) in the Southwest Division.
