Blazers go for second straight road win
Nov 3, 2006 - 3:01 PM Portland (1-0) at Golden State (0-1) 10:30 pm ESTOAKLAND, California (Ticker) - After ending a 16-game road losing streak, the Portland Trail Blazers try to make it two in a row away from home when they face the Golden State Warriors on Friday.
The Blazers snapped their prolonged road slide with a 110-106 triumph over the Seattle SuperSonics on Wednesday. It was their first win away from the Rose Garden since a 91-83 victory over the Charlotte Bobcats on February 13.
Zach Randolph scored 30 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, rookie Brandon Roy added 20 points in his league debut and Juan Dixon chipped in 18 for Portland, which lost its final eight games last season.
The Warriors will try to extend their six-game winning streak against the Blazers.
Monta Ellis netted 22 points in 22 minutes off the bench and Baron Davis added 18 and six assists, but Golden State absorbed a 110-98 setback to the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday.
Jason Richardson had 15 points and Troy Murphy added 11 and 13 boards for the Warriors, who shot 16 percent (3-of-19) from the arc.
