Kings go for third straight win against struggling Pacers

Jan 12, 2008 - 3:55 PM Indiana (16-21) at Sacramento (14-20) 10:00 pm EST

SACRAMENTO, California (Ticker) - The Sacramento Kings go for a season-high third straight win when they host the slumping Indiana Pacers on Saturday.

John Salmons had 28 points and 11 rebounds and Francisco Garcia made the go-ahead 3-pointer with 7.9 seconds left in Thursday's 116-113 victory over Memphis. Salmons has scored 20 points or more in six of his last seven games.

Sacramento has won two games in a row four times this season, but have not won three straight since February 28-March 6 of last season.

The Kings may have a good chance of achieving that feat as they have won eight of the past 10 meetings against the Pacers, including a two-game series sweep last season.

Indiana comes in on a three-game losing skid and the Pacers have dropped seven straight road games.

The Pacers blew a 16-point third quarter lead in their latest loss, a 129-122 overtime setback to Phoenix on Wednesday. Indiana also missed 11 straight shots to end regulation.

Mike Dunleavy is scoring 17.1 points per game to lead the Pacers, who are playing the fourth game of a season-long five-game road trip.
