With most of their offense intact, Spurs face Timberwolves

Jan 12, 2008 - 3:58 PM Minnesota (5-30) at San Antonio (23-11) 8:30 pm EST

SAN ANTONIO (Ticker) - For the first time in over a month, the San Antonio Spurs seemingly have the core of their team healthy.

With Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili in good health, the Spurs will look to end their two-game slide against the lowly Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday.

Until Sunday's 88-82 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers, Duncan, Parker and Ginobili had not finished a game together since November 30. However, San Antonio has dropped two straight since the trio's return, a 130-121 overtime setback at Golden State on Monday and a 90-80 loss at home to Detroit on Thursday.

Duncan had 24 points and 15 rebounds in Thursday's loss for the Spurs, who are just 6-8 after a scintillating 17-3 start.

San Antonio should have an easier time against the Timberwolves, who have lost nine of their last 10 games to continue the worst start in franchise history. Minnesota limped to just 33 first-half points on its way to a 113-82 loss to the Houston Rockets on Friday.

Ryan Gomes scored 20 points for the Timberwolves, who saw their offensive centerpiece Al Jefferson held to six points on 2-of-10 shooting in the rout.
