Hawks aim to return to .500, face Nuggets
Jan 15, 2008 - 2:05 PM Denver (22-14) at Atlanta (16-17) 7:00 pm ESTATLANTA (Ticker) -- Joe Johnson and the Atlanta Hawks aim to get back to .500 when they conclude a season-high five-game homestand against the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday.
The Hawks picked up their eighth win in their last 11 games at Philips Arena on Sunday as Johnson scored 37 points and grabbed nine rebounds en route to a 105-84 victory over the Chicago Bulls.
Atlanta has split the first four games of the homestand.
Denver lost for the second time in three games Monday, dropping a 119-116 decision to the Charlotte Bobcats. Carmelo Anthony, who scored 35 points, was called for travelling with the Nuggets trailing by one point with 9.5 seconds remaining.
"They called it, so you can't really complain about it," Anthony said. "I probably did travel, but I didn't think they were going to call it, though."
