Warriors seek third straight win

Jan 15, 2008 - 2:31 PM Golden State (22-16) at Minnesota (5-31) 8:00 pm EST

MINNEAPOLIS (Ticker) -- One of the league's most potent offenses faces one of the NBA's worst-scoring teams when the Golden State Warriors travel to the Target Center on Tuesday to meet the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Warriors, who average 108.4 points to rank second in the league behind Phoenix's 110.3, got 29 points from Monta Ellis in Sunday's 106-101 win over the Indiana Pacers. That performance came on the heels of a 27-point explosion against the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday.

A win on Tuesday would give Golden State its first three-game winning streak since it put together a six-game run from November 23-December 2.

This season, Ellis has already been a thorn in the side of Minnesota, as the third-year guard is averaging 29.5 points in two meetings against them, including a career-high 35 in their last meeting - a 105-101 win over Minnesota on December 26.

The Timberwolves average 92.8 points, the second-worst mark in the league.

Minnesota, which owns the league's worst record, has lost 10 of its last 11 games.
