Knicks seek third straight win

Jan 16, 2008 - 2:25 PM New York (11-26) at New Jersey (18-19) 7:30 pm EST

EAST RUTHERFORD, New Jersey (Ticker) - The New York Knicks aim for their first three-game winning streak in more than a year when they visit the New Jersey Nets on Wednesday.

New York has not won three straight games since January 3-10, 2007.

It has been an impressive week for the Knicks, who coasted to a surprising 89-65 victory over the Detroit Pistons on Sunday. They followed that up with a 105-93 triumph over the Washington Wizards on Tuesday.

Now the Knicks will try to improve to 3-0 against the Nets this season. One of their two road wins came here, a 100-93 triumph on December 5.

Prior to this season, the Nets had won 10 of the last 11 meetings from the Knicks.

Since a five-game winning streak, the Nets have lost three of their last four contests, including an embarrassing 99-73 setback to the Portland Trail Blazers on Monday. No starter scored more than 10 points in the setback.
