Hornets look to continue rolling against Bobcats

NEW ORLEANS (Ticker) - The surging New Orleans Hornets will go for their fourth straight win when they host the Charlotte Bobcats on Friday.

New Orleans, which has won 11 of its past 13, is coming off a 123-92 thumping of Seattle on Wednesday, setting a season high for points in a game.

Peja Stojakovic had 23 points and Tyson Chandler had 14 points and 21 rebounds in the victory as the Hornets made 12-of-22 3-pointers.

The recent string of wins has catapulted New Orleans near the top of the Western Conference. The Hornets, who have not had a winning season since the 2002-03 campaign, are tied for second with the Los Angeles Lakers (26-12) and Dallas (26-12) and is just 1/2 game behind the Phoenix (27-12) in the conference.

Charlotte comes in winners of two straight and four out of six overall. The Bobcats' only two losses during the stretch have both come in overtime.

Gerald Wallace had 36 points and 14 rebounds in Charlotte's 99-93 victory over Orlando on Wednesday, one game after scoring a season-high 40.

The Hornets won the first meeting, 99-85, on December 28 and is 3-0 all-time at home against the Bobcats.
