Raptors go for season sweep of Sixers

Jan 19, 2008 - 3:31 PM Toronto (22-18) at Philadelphia (15-25) 7:00 pm EST

PHILADELPHIA (Ticker) -- The Toronto Raptors go for a season sweep of the struggling Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday.

The Raptors have won all three games against Philadelphia this season, including a pair of games in Toronto.

The Raptors are facing a Philadelphia team that collapsed down the stretch in Boston on Friday. The Sixers suffered a 116-89 defeat to the Celtics for their eighth loss in the last nine games. At one point in the game, Philadelphia had a 12-point lead against the NBA's best team.

"We had 85 points with five minutes left. We ended up with 89," Sixers' coach Maurice Cheeks said. "So that shows a lot about their defense."

The Raptors have won five of their last six games and two straight, including an 89-78 home victory over Atlanta on Friday. Chris Bosh had 35 points and nine rebounds for Toronto.

Bosh is averaging a team-high 20.3 points against Philadelphia in the three victories. In his last five games, the 23-year-old power forward is averaging 32 points and 10.8 rebounds while playing with a knee injury.

"Everything is just opening up for me," Bosh said. "I'm finally at 100 percent. It's been a tough stretch for me, but I just kept playing and kept pushing through it."
