Grizzlies begin busy home stretch, face Bulls

Jan 21, 2008 - 2:40 PM Chicago (16-23) at Memphis (11-29) 5:30 pm EST

MEMPHIS, Tennessee (Ticker) - The Memphis Grizzlies begin a stretch of seven of their next eight games at home when they face the Chicago Bulls on Monday.

Mired in last place in the Southwest Division, the Grizzlies have picked up seven of their 11 wins this season at home.

Memphis has lost six of its last seven games, including a 105-87 setback to the Charlotte Bobcats on Saturday.

One of the league's biggest disappointments, the Bulls have split their last 10 games. They are coming off Saturday's impressive 97-81 victory over the Central Division-leading Detroit Pistons.

"We were just making plays. For whatever reason whenever we've had a lead, especially at home, we've made a bunch of stupid plays near the end that hurt us," Bulls' guard Ben Gordon said. "We just kept control of the lead and controlled the tempo."

Gordon averaged 28.5 points against the Grizzlies last season as the teams split two games, each winning at home.
