Kings try to spoil second consecutive home opener

Nov 4, 2006 - 3:32 PM Sacramento (1-1) at Milwaukee (1-1) 8:30 pm EST

MILWAUKEE (Ticker) -- After spoiling the Chicago Bulls' home opener, the Sacramento Kings try to do the same thing to the Milwaukee Bucks, who begin their season at the Bradley Center on Saturday.

On the second stop of their season-opening three-game road trip, the Kings rallied from a five-point deficit in the final minute to stun the Bulls, 89-88, on Friday.

Mike Bibby nailed a tough 3-pointer from the corner with 14 seconds remaining. After a Chicago turnover, Bibby made a crossover dribble to blow by Kirk Hinrich before finding a wide-open Kevin Martin, who drained the game-winning baseline jumper with 6.4 ticks left on the clock.

Martin scored 30 points, Bibby added 23 and nine assists and Ron Artest finished with 22 and 13 rebounds for Sacramento, which prevailed despite 26 turnovers and 37 percent (27-of-73) shooting from the field.

Meanwhile, the Bucks absorbed their first loss of the season, a 109-92 setback against the Toronto Raptors on Friday. Andrew Bogut collected 18 points and seven rebounds and Charlie Villanueva added 17 and 11 for Milwaukee.

Overall, the Bucks are 27-11 all-time in home openers. However, Milwaukee has dropped five straight here to Sacramento.
