Magic look to start new road streak against Grizzlies

Jan 23, 2008 - 2:39 PM Orlando (26-17) at Memphis (12-29) 8:00 pm EST

MEMPHIS, Tennessee (Ticker) -- It has been an odd season for the improved Orlando Magic, who continue to play better on the road than at home.

The Magic visit the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday looking for their league-best 17th road win.

Orlando, which leads the Southeast Division by two games, is only two games over .500 at home.

The Magic have not won in Memphis since January 19, 2002, their first trip there after the Grizzlies moved from Vancouver. Memphis has beaten Orlando five straight times at home, winning by an average of 13 points.

Facing the Grizzlies, who are mired in last place in the Southwest Division, could be just what the Magic need to extend their winning streak to three.

Orlando is coming off home victories over Portland and Detroit but has dropped its last three road contests.

The two teams have met once this season, with Memphis winning, 123-119, in Orlando on December 15.

Rudy Gay, the Grizzlies' leading scorer, finished with a career-high 32 points in the victory.
