Nash, Suns visit lowly Timberwolves

Jan 23, 2008 - 2:53 PM Phoenix (30-12) at Minnesota (6-34) 8:00 pm EST

MINNEAPOLIS (Ticker) -- The Minnesota Timberwolves' long, difficult season doesn't figure to get any easier Wednesday against Steve Nash and the Phoenix Suns.

Owners of the best record in the Western Conference, the Suns are riding a four-game winning streak, including a 114-105 victory over Milwaukee on Tuesday behind a season-high 37 points from Nash.

The game marked the return of Suns forward Grant Hill, who underwent an emergency appendectomy less than two weeks ago. Hill had eight points in 27 minutes after missing seven games recovering from the surgery.

The Suns and Timberwolves split the first two games of the season series, each winning at home. Phoenix has dominated the all-time series, winning 47 of 72 games.

Minnesota, 4-14 at home, is coming off a 109-108 victory at Golden State on Monday. It was the Timberwolves' second road win in 22 games and also snapped a five-game losing streak.

Minnesota owns the worst record in the league and is just 4-24 against teams from the Western Conference.
