Nets take on Warriors looking to end slide

Jan 24, 2008 - 2:58 PM New Jersey (18-22) at Golden State (25-18) 10:30 pm EST

OAKLAND, California (Ticker) -- The New Jersey Nets look to snap a six-game losing streak Thursday when they visit the Golden State Warriors.

The Nets, who are mired in their second six-game losing streak of the season, couldn't end their slide during their last game Tuesday, a 128-94 setback to the Sacramento Kings.

New Jersey coach Lawrence Frank called the performance "pathetic" after his team allowed a season-high in points, allowing the Kings to shoot 57.5 percent from the field and 62.5 percent from 3-point range.

Things won't get any easier against the Warriors, who have won five of their last seven games and are looking to get back on track after a heartbreaking 109-108 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday.

Monta Ellis scored 28 points against the Bucks, leading the Warriors in scoring for the third straight game. Ellis, who is averaging just over 17 points a game, is just one of only nine guards in the NBA shooting 50 percent or higher from the field this season.
