Lewis, Magic visit Pistons in rematch of thriller

Jan 25, 2008 - 3:12 PM Orlando (27-17) at Detroit (30-13) 7:00 pm EST

AUBURN HILLS, Michigan (Ticker) -- The last time the Detroit Pistons and Orlando Magic faced off, fans were treated to a fantastic finish.

The Eastern Conference powerhouses will try for an encore Friday when the Pistons host the Magic in the second meeting in the last five days.

On Monday, Chauncey Billups drilled a 35-foot 3-pointer with 3.6 seconds left that tied the game at 100-100. However, Rashard Lewis hit a fadeaway jumper at the buzzer to lift the Magic to a 102-100 win in Orlando.

The Magic carried that momentum into Wednesday's 112-85 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies.

Hedo Turkoglu scored 26 points while Lewis and Dwight Howard both chipped in 16 for Orlando, which has won three consecutive contests and four of its last five.

Monday's victory snapped Orlando's nine-game losing streak to the Pistons. On Friday, Lewis and the Magic will try to snap a six-game losing streak in Detroit.

Orlando, which has the league's best road record at 17-9, has not beaten the Pistons in Detroit since an 87-86 win on February 22, 2004.

The Pistons bounced back from Monday's loss with an 86-78 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers.

Richard Hamilton scored 21 points and Billups chipped in 19 for Detroit, which snapped a three-game skid.
