Suns face Bulls in finale of four-game road trip

Jan 27, 2008 - 2:04 PM Phoenix (31-13) at Chicago (17-25) 1:00 pm EST

CHICAGO (Ticker) - The Phoenix Suns look to finish their four-game road trip on a positive note when they visit the shorthanded Chicago Bulls on Sunday.

Shawn Marion's game-winning floater with one second to go lifted the Suns to a hard-fought 110-108 victory on Friday over the Cleveland Cavaliers. Phoenix is 2-1 on its road trip.

"I just thought we were grittier," Suns guard Steve Nash said. "When you start fighting defensively, good things happen will happen offensively."

Phoenix has won six of the last seven meetings against the Bulls, who haven't captured a home win in the series since January 5, 2004.

In their first matchup on November 15, Leandro Barbosa scored 25 points off the bench to lead the Suns to a 112-102 victory over the Bulls.

The Bulls fell to 9-12 here with Friday's 90-77 setback to the Charlotte Bobcats. Chicago played without its top two scorers, Ben Gordon (wrist) and Luol Deng (Achilles).

Gordon, who averages 19.6 points, remains questionable.

Bulls interim coach Jim Boylan thinks motivation will be the key if things are to turn around soon.

"It is difficult to understand why we have problems motivating ourselves," Boylan said. "I know we are missing two of our main scorers. We should be able to step up and fill those voids with the guys we have."
