James, Cavaliers look to sweep Lakers

Jan 27, 2008 - 2:13 PM Cleveland (23-19) at LA Lakers (27-14) 3:30 pm EST

LOS ANGELES (Ticker) - LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers will look to continue their dominance against the shorthanded Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday.

In the first meeting on December 20, James collected 33 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Cavaliers to a 94-90 triumph over the Lakers. Los Angeles superstar Kobe Bryant was held to just 21 points.

Cleveland enters aiming for its fifth straight win over Los Angeles.

James scored 36 points but it wasn't enough as the Cavs had a five-game winning streak stopped with a 110-108 loss to the Phoenix Suns on Friday.

Bryant registered his 87th career 40-point performance but the Lakers came up short, 112-105, against the Dallas Mavericks on Friday.

"We did a great job of battling back and actually having an opportunity to do some damage there," Bryant said. "It just never materialized for us."

Los Angeles fell to 2-3 without the services of center Andrew Bynum, who is sidelined for the next two months with an injured left knee.
