Nuggets try to halt road losing streak

Jan 30, 2008 - 2:18 PM Denver (26-18) at Memphis (13-32) 8:00 pm EST

MEMPHIS, Tennessee (Ticker) - The Denver Nuggets attempt to end a six-game road losing streak Wednesday when they visit the Memphis Grizzlies.

Denver is battling for first place in the Northwest Division despite a 7-13 road record. The Nuggets have lost by an average of 13.6 points during their current slide away from home - their longest since dropping eight in a row in 2004-05.

The Nuggets are hoping to have Carmelo Anthony back in the lineup. Anthony, who is averaging 25.5 points, has missed the last four games with a sprained left ankle.

Denver has gone 2-2 without Anthony, who has averaged 32.2 points in his last six games against the Grizzlies.

Memphis has lost nine of its last 12 games, including a 103-84 setback against Dallas on Monday in the opener of a five-game homestand. This is the first meeting between the teams this season.
