Kidd, Nets visit depeleted Heat

Feb 1, 2008 - 3:07 PM New Jersey (19-26) at Miami (9-35) 8:00 pm EST

MIAMI (Ticker) - The New Jersey Nets will try to put together a pair of wins on Friday when they pay a visit to the slumping Miami Heat.

Despite Jason Kidd's trade demands taking most of the attention, New Jersey finally snapped its season-worst nine-game slide with Tuesday's 87-80 triumph over the Milwaukee Bucks.

A day earlier, Kidd and his agent voiced their displeasure with the Nets and requested to be traded with the hopes of finding a new home with a postseason contender.

The Nets haven't captured a road win since defeating the Atlanta Hawks on January 5 - a span of seven consecutive games away from the Izod Center.

Miami's injury-plagued season continued with its 107-91 setback to the Orlando Magic on Wednesday as starters Dwyane Wade (flu), Udonis Haslem (ankle) and Shaquille O'Neal (hip) all sat out.

The Heat have dropped 17 of their last 18 games.

In the first matchup, Vince Carter and Richard Jefferson poured in 60 combined points as New Jersey rallied late for a 107-103 victory to upstage Wade's 41-point effort here on December 20.
