Knicks look to end road trip with win over Sonics

Feb 2, 2008 - 3:41 PM New York (14-32) at Seattle (11-35) 10:00 pm EST

SEATTLE (Ticker) - The New York Knicks look to close out a five-game West Coast road trip with a win when they visit the Seattle SuperSonics on Saturday.

The Knicks have lost their first four games of the road trip, including a 94-88 overtime setback to the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday.

New York led by as many as 15 points during the game but couldn't hold on for the win after making just 39 percent of their shots from the field and just 2-of-17 3-pointers.

The Knicks have not gone winless on a five-game road trip since December, 2003, and have lost two straight to the SuperSonics dating back to last season.

The Sonics are seeking their first three-game win streak since March, 2007 after snapping a franchise-record 14-game losing streak with a pair of wins against the San Antonio Spurs and Cleveland Cavaliers over their last two games.

Rookie Kevin Durant scored 26 points against the Spurs before pouring in 24 en route to a 101-95 triumph against the Cavaliers on Thursday. Durant, who is averaging 19.6 points per game, scored 30 against the Knicks during a 117-110 victory on December 12.
