Improved Timberwolves look for 5th straight home win

Feb 4, 2008 - 3:22 PM Houston (27-20) at Minnesota (10-36) 8:00 pm EST

MINNEAPOLIS (Ticker) - The Minnesota Timberwolves are on a roll.

The Timberwolves still have the worst record in the Western Conference, but have won five of their last seven games. Minnesota will look to go 3-0 on its five-game homestand on Monday against the Houston Rockets.

A big reason for the Timberwolves' early-season woes was a tendency to collapse in the fourth quarter. On Friday, Minnesota started slow, but outscored Los Angeles 74-39 in the game's final 30 minutes of a 104-83 victory over the Clippers.

The teams have met once this season with Houston posting a 31-point victory at home. Minnesota has won only two of 24 games on the road, but is 8-14 at home.

The Rockets have won seven of their last eight and three straight, including a 91-83 victory at Milwaukee on Saturday behind 33 points from Tracy McGrady.

Houston, 15-11 on the road this season, is 42-31 all-time against the Timberwolves. Minnesota has a 6-24 record against teams from the West.
