Durant looks to guide Sonics to fourth straight win

Feb 4, 2008 - 3:38 PM Chicago (18-28) at Seattle (12-35) 10:00 pm EST

SEATTLE (Ticker) - The Seattle SuperSonics are finally going in the right direction.

The upstart SuperSonics will try to earn their fourth straight victory on Monday when the slumping Chicago Bulls come calling.

Most recently, rookie Kevin Durant scored 21 points, including the game-winning 3-pointer late in the fourth quarter, to help Seattle post an 86-85 win over the New York Knicks on Saturday.

"We're playing very hard and we have to make big time plays," Durant said. "That's what it is. We came out a little bit slow but in the second half we picked it up."

It was the third straight 20-point effort by the 19-year-old Durant, who selected second overall last spring.

Prior to the Sonics' current winning streak, they had dropped a season-worst 14 consecutive games from December 31-January 27.

Chicago fell to 0-2 on its five-game tour of the West Coast with Saturday's 105-101 setback to the Sacramento Kings despite 33 points from Ben Gordon.

As one of Chicago's top reserves, Gordon connected on 10-of-19 shots in his first game back after missing five games due to a sore right wrist.

In the first meeting, Gordon buried the Sonics for 27 points to help the Bulls came away with a convincing 123-96 win at home on December 11.
