Spurs aim to continue Eastern Conference dominance
Feb 6, 2008 - 2:37 PM San Antonio (30-16) at Washington (24-23) 7:00 pm ESTWASHINGTON (Ticker) - The San Antonio Spurs look to continue their success against Eastern Conference foes Wednesday when they visit the Washington Wizards.
San Antonio is 11-3 this season against Eastern Conference opponents.
Tim Duncan collected 19 points and 15 rebounds as the Spurs made it back-to-back wins Tuesday with a 116-89 rout of the Indiana Pacers. The Spurs placed seven players in double figures.
The Wizards are mired in a four-game losing streak - their longest skid since dropping their first five contests this season. Washington has struggled offensively during its slide, averaging just 89.3 points.
Washington is coming off Tuesday's 101-96 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers. The loss could be particularly costly as All-Star Caron Butler aggravated the left hip injury which kept him out of three games last week. His status for Wednesday is uncertain.
