Duncan, Spurs look for continued success against Bosh, Raptors

Nov 5, 2006 - 3:41 PM San Antonio (1-1) at Toronto (1-1) 1:00 pm EST

TORONTO (Ticker) -- After having trouble with LeBron James, the San Antonio Spurs will face off with another young star.

The Spurs will take on All-Star Chris Bosh and the Toronto Raptors on Sunday in an inter-conference matchup.

James scored 35 points to lead the Cleveland Cavaliers to an 88-81 victory over San Antonio on Friday, their first win in 18 years in the Alamo City.

Two-time MVP Tim Duncan did his best to rally the Spurs, scoring 13 of his 25 points in the fourth quarter, but it wasn't enough to erase a 13-point deficit.

Despite his stellar game, Duncan was dunked on by James in one of the most impressive individual plays in recent memory. On Sunday, the two-time MVP will look to control the paint against one of the game's best young interior players.

The 22-year-old Bosh made his first All-Star appearance last season in his third campaign.

Bosh scored 26 points to lead seven players in double figures and grabbed 15 rebounds as the Raptors ran away from the Milwaukee Bucks in the fourth quarter for a 109-92 victory in their home opener on Friday.

Toronto held the Bucks to seven points in the first 10 minutes of the final period. Backup guards Jose Calderon and Fred Jones triggered a game-breaking 14-4 run to start the fourth as the Raptors rebounded from their season-opening loss to New Jersey two days earlier.

Toronto will try to get first overall pick Andrea Bargnani on track. The 6-10 forward-center has just six points and seven rebounds in 19 minutes in his first two NBA games.

The Spurs are 7-3 all-time in Toronto and have won seven of their last eight overall meetings with the Raptors.
