Hornets look to remain undefeated in home opener
Nov 5, 2006 - 3:57 PM Houston (1-1) at New Orleans (2-0) 7:00 pm ESTOKLAHOMA CITY (Ticker) -- The last time the New Orleans Hornets started 3-0 was the 2003-04 season.
The Hornets will look to match that mark in their home opener when they square off against the Houston Rockets on Sunday.
David West scored 20 points and Chris Paul added 16 as New Orleans posted a 100-91 victory over the Indiana Pacers Friday. The Hornets trailed, 72-69, after three quarters but used a 14-2 run to begin the fourth that put the game away.
Yao Ming scored 36 points and Luther Head added 14 of his 17 in the fourth quarter as the Houston Rockets pounded the Dallas Mavericks in their home opener Saturday, 107-76.
The All-star center was 12-of-16 from the field and 12-of-12 from the free throw line. He also pulled down six rebounds.
New Orleans was 3-1 vs. Houston last season.
